The International Federation of Right to Life Associations has awarded NSW Right to Life the honour of hosting its 2010 international conference in Sydney!
NSW Right to Life is a member of the International Federation, along with Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Honduras India, the Philippines, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States.
Competing against other international bids, Sydney is set to receive international pro-life speakers and leaders next year.
Sharing the stage will be Australian and international pro-life advocates discussing the latest news and successes from their campaigns against abortion, euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research.
“It has been over 15 years since Australia last hosted this annual international conference,” said Chiang Lim, CEO of NSW Right to Life.
The circumstances across the world is not consistent. While some nations have been able to successfully fend off anti-life laws and social regimes, others have developed and improved campaign strategies that are invaluable to learn and emulate. For example, Australia was the first nation in the world to introduce euthanasia laws, yet it remains the only nation to have also removed it after it was introduced.
“Australian pro-lifers will be able to get a global view right in our own backyard. I anticipate that this world perspective will help us in our own local campaigns,” said Chiang Lim.As host and coordinator, NSW Right to Life will also invite all Australian pro-life leaders, parliamentarians as well as pro-life organisations and their members to attend and participate. “This will also effectively be a national conference, a rare reunion of our Australian pro-life family which we should do more often,” said Chiang Lim. |
